As a country located in northwest region of South America with multiple races, languages and various cultures, Peru is known as the birthplace of ancient Incan culture. In ancient Indian language, Peru means “corn storehouse” as it is well-known for its abundance of corn. Machu Picchu is the remains of an ancient city of the Inca Empire in Peru. The ancient city features an orderly and neat layout of narrow streets, and a variety of characteristic palaces, temples,workshops and fortress. They are mostly built with large rocks, with no binder such as mortar. The seamless combination of large and small rocks provides no space for even a blade. In 1983, Machu Picchu was included into World Heritage List by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

At present, UnionPay card can be used for cash withdrawal and balance inquiry at around all 1,700 ATMs of Interbank, one of the biggest banks in Peru. .

Tips: As withdrawing cash with credit cards requires the payment of overdraft interests, it is better for cardholders to use UnionPay debit cards when withdrawing cash overseas.
How to Identify ATMs Accepting UnionPay Cards
All the ATMs at Interbank branches can accept UnionPay cards. And Interbank has UnionPay logos on its ATM machines.
Chinese Interface
ATMs of Interbank have been installed with Chinese and other languages interfaces and cardholders can choose one from these languages.
Charges and withdrawal limits
According to the provisions of the state’s supervisory authority, during the ATM cash withdrawal overseas with UnionPay cards, the accumulative withdrawal per card each day of UnionPay debit cards shall not exceed the equivalent foreign currency of RMB 10,000 Yuan.
Issuing banks will charge certain procedure fees for overseas cash withdrawal. Please inquire the issuing bank for specific rates, withdrawal frequency in a single day, withdrawal limit each time and accumulative withdrawal limit.
Compared with the networks of other bank cards, 1% to 2% of currency conversion fee is exempted when UnionPay network is used for consumption. The consumed sum of local currency will be directly converted into RMB at the market exchange rate and will be timely booked into the RMB account of the cardholder by the issuing bank.
