As a country located in northwest region of South America with multiple races, languages and various cultures, Peru is known as the birthplace of ancient Incan culture. In ancient Indian language, Peru means “corn storehouse” as it is well-known for its abundance of corn. The diversity of natural environment, the Amazon Jungle, the Inca ruins on Andean Plateau and Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world, make Peru one of the most attractive places of interest in the world.
Machu Picchu is the remains of an ancient city of the Inca Empire in Peru. The ancient city features an orderly and neat layout of narrow streets, and a variety of characteristic palaces, temples, workshops and fortress. They are mostly built with large rocks, with no binder such as mortar. The seamless combination of large and small rocks provides no space for even a blade. In 1983, Machu Picchu was included into World Heritage List by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
