Cambodia is located at the south of Indo-China Peninsula in southeastern Asia, and bounded on the east and southeast by Viet Nam, on the north by Laos, and abuts with Thailand to the west and northwest, and Thailand Bay to the southwest. Mekong River is the largest one in Cambodia and the central plain covers half of the territory. Cambodia covers an area of 181035 square kilometers, and has a population of 11.43 million with over 20 nationalities, among which Khmer people take up 80 % of the population. Buddhism is the state religion. Khmer language is the official language while French and English are also widely used. The currency of Cambodia is Riel. Cambodia is one hour late than the Beijing time in the time zone. Its capital is Phnom Penh.

Cambodia is under-developed but not closed and begins to attract investor’s attention. Tourism facilities there are in bad repair, but people there are friendly. Most people’s impression of Cambodia comes from Angkor Wat, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The simple and backward life in Cambodia still keeps the influences from Red Khmer regime and the French colonial style. And it is the combination of mystery, history and plain sensation that makes Cambodia being admired by all visitors.

The climate of Cambodia is tropical monsoon one, with the yearly average temperature of 29—30℃. The rain season is from May to October, and the dry season from November to next April. The rain drops differs from areas to areas for the influence of terrain and monsoon. For example, at the south tip of Elephant Mountain, the rain drop reaches 5400 mm while at the east to Phnom Penh is about 1000 mm.
