At present, UnionPay cards can be used at local ATMs based on the cooperation between UnionPay and the Royal Bank of Azerbaijan. UnionPay cardholders can withdraw U.S. dollars and the local currency Azerbaijani Manat (AZN) at ATMs with the Royal Bank logo using their UnionPay cards. The ATM has English, Russian and Azerbaidzhan interfaces.

Relevant Charges
For ATM cash withdrawals with UnionPay cards while abroad, follow the stipulations set by relevant state authorities: The daily accumulative withdrawal amount of foreign currency per UnionPay debit card shall not exceed the equivalent of RMB 10,000. Please consult the issuing bank for the daily cash withdrawal limits of the UnionPay credit card.
Certain amount of commission fee will be charged by the issuing bank for cash withdrawal while abroad. Please consult the issuing bank for more details on specific rates, the times of cash withdrawal each day with a single card, withdrawal limit per time, accumulative cash withdrawal limit, etc.
Compared to other bankcard networks, the 1%-2% currency conversion fee is exempted when withdrawing cash via the UnionPay network. UnionPay will convert the amount of local currency withdrawn into that of RMB, and the issuing bank will deduct that amount from the cardholder’s RMB account accordingly in a timely manner.

Currently, all ATMs of Royal Bank in Azerbaijan can perform the withdrawal of local currency Azerbaijani Manat (AZN) or U.S, dollars with UnionPay cards.
The UnionPay card can’t be used to make transfer or withdraw cash in over the counter in overseas market yet.
