Located in the northeast Africa and west coast of the Red Sea, Sudan is the largest country in Africa. Mainly focused on agriculture and animal husbandry, its yield of long-staple cotton ranks No. 2 in Africa, second only to Egypt, while its yield of Arabic gum ranks No. 1 worldwide, known as the “Gum Kingdom”. Sudan has sufficient natural resources, while its capital Khartoum is the largest city. Arabic is official language of the country, with English in common use and Sudanese pound as the legal currency.

Maintaining sound relationship with China, Sudan is China’s third largest trading partner in Africa.
