Application Scope
CUP card can be used to withdraw local currency (Egyptian pound) or inquire the balance from ATMs in National Bank of Egypt, Citibank and Piraeus Bank. Partial ATMs in National Bank of Egypt and Piraeus Bank have not been pasted with CUP label yet, but which actually can be used at ease.
Optimum ATM Locations:
Cairo: the exit of immigration luggage hall in the airport, the domestic departure hall in the airport, Ramses Railway Station (inside), the lobbies of Sheraton Hotel and Marriot Hotel (five-star hotel), the lobby of Shepheard Hotel (four-star hotel), main passage of the largest shopping center City Stars, the entrance of Carrefour Maadi Store, and various business outlets of National Bank of Egypt.
Luxor: the surrounding area of Winter Hotel, Sofitel Hotel, and in the Naher El Nil Street branch of the National Bank of Egypt (near the Nile).
Alexander: the branches of National Bank of Egypt surrounding the Sheraton Hotel opposite to Summer Palace.

ATMs in National Bank of Egypt: CUP card only with CUP logo, including CUP debit card and UnionPay Card
Warm Tips: dual-currency card like Visa, Webster, etc. cannot access CUP network for cash withdrawal from ATMs in National Bank of Egypt. Since overdraft interest shall be paid for cash withdrawal by credit card, it is suggested that the cardholder shall use CUP debit card for overseas cash withdrawal.

Currently there is no Chinese interface, but English or Arabic as the prompt language.
Operation of Cash Withdrawal and Inquiry
At present after inserting the card, some screen might display “Please input four-digit password” based on local situation, while the cardholder is only required to input the correct password based on the situation in China (at most 6 digits in China). Upon completion of operation, first cash withdrawal, then card take and ultimately present the voucher.
Upon completion of inquiry, the screen will not display any result but the machine will print a voucher out. In case that such inquiry fails, the machine will not print any voucher.
Charge and Limit for Cash Withdrawal
For cash withdrawal from ATMs with CUP card overseas, as per stipulations by the national authority: the accumulated cash withdrawal with a single CUP debit card every day shall not exceed RMB 10,000 (or equivalent foreign currency), and please consult various issuing banks for the limit of cash withdrawal with CUP credit card every day.
Certain commission charge will be collected for overseas cash withdrawal by the issuing bank, from which the specific rate, the times of daily cash withdrawal with a single card, the upper limit for cash withdrawal every time and the upper limit for the accumulated cash withdrawal, etc. can be consulted.
Currency conversion charge at the ratio of 1%-2% can be exempted for cash withdrawal via CUP network compared with other bankcard network, while the amount of local currency withdrawn shall be directly converted into RMB amount as per the market exchange rate, which shall be timely recorded into the cardholder’s RMB account by the issuing bank.
