Located on the southern margin of Sahara in West Africa, Mali has an area of around 1.24 million km2. Adjacent to Mauritania and Senegal in the west, neighboring Algeria and Niger in the north and east, connected to Guinea, Cote d’ivoire and Burkina Faso in the south, Mali is one inland country. Northern part of the country belongs to tropical desert climate, dry and hot. The central and southern part of the country belongs to savanna climate. It is divided into two seasons throughout the year: rainy season from June to October and dry season from November to May in the following year. Maximum temperature in the dry season is up to 50℃, while minimum temperature in the rainy season is 14℃.
Mali has a population of 12.77 million, while 80% of the population believes in Islam. French is the official language, with Bambara language in common use. Bamako is capital of the country, used to be the central area of Ghana Empire, Mali Empire and Songhai Empire in history.
The economy is dominated by agriculture and animal husbandry. The country has abundant tourism resources but inconvenient traffic. The capital of Bamako, the ancient city of Timbuktu and the water city of Mopti are its major tourist cities.

Application Scope
At present, West African CFA Franc can be withdrawn with CUP card from ATMs of Banque Atlantique network in Mali.

Warm tip: Since overdraft interest shall be paid for cash withdrawal with credit card, it is recommended to use CUP debit card for cash withdrawal by cardholders abroad.
How to Identify ATMs that Can Accept CUP Card

on the machine or screen can accept CUP card.
Chinese-English Interface
At present only English interface is available, while Chinese-English interface will be installed later for language selection by cardholders.
Operation for Cash Withdrawal
Most ATMs will dispense cash before returning the card; the cardholders shall follow the screen prompt for operation.
Charges and Cash Withdrawal Limits
For cash withdrawal on ATM with CUP card abroad, as per the stipulations by competent state authorities, the daily accumulative cash withdrawal per CUP debit card shall not exceed the equivalent of RMB 10,000 in foreign currency. Please consult respective issuing bank for the daily cash withdrawal limit for CUP credit card.
Certain amount of commission fee will be charged by issuing bank for cash withdrawal abroad. Please consult respective issuing bank for specific rate, number of times for cash withdrawal every day with single card, cash withdrawal limit per time, accumulative cash withdrawal limit, etc.
Compared to the other bankcard network, 1%-2% currency conversion fee can be exempted for cash withdrawal via CUP network. The amount of local currency withdrawn will be directly converted into RMB amount based on the market exchange rate, and timely debited into the cardholder’s RMB account by the issuing bank.
